Another fun packed paper kit

Hello all.

Hope that your week has been going well.

With Easter this weekend I know I will get a chance to be able to play in my scrap room.

With that in mind I thought I would share with you another kit that I created for Mad About Scrappin this month.

So... here's the goodies you get in the kit

And here's the layouts I created using the goodies.

Now I must say I had so much fun playing around with this paper range. However have to admit that the papers were so nice I just didn't want to cut the paper!

I did however and had so much fun creating these layouts for you.

Now.. remember when you purchase this kit you get the FULL instructions so that you can make them all yourself.

YES!! that does include detailed instructions on how to create the flowers too!!!

But you had better be quick because kit numbers are limited.

Hope over to the Mad About Scrappin Facebook Page to grab one now.

Happy Easter !

Making a Mess with a Detour Paper Kit

Hello all.

Once again I have been playing with some fun products from Mad About Scrappin and have been lucky again to be ale to create another paper kit for you.

So without further ado here is the kit I created for this months Flog it Friday last week.

And I must say there are so many goodies in the kit that you will have so much to play with its not funny!

Now.. as most of you have probably seen I tend to take a kit and create layouts with a bit of a difference. I like to be able to challenge myself so to speak.

So with this kit I have done just that. Yes!! the kit is more boy/travel  themed how ever if you think outside the box a little it is amazing what you can create.

Here's the layouts I have designed for you using this kit. And just a little hint... the idea is that your going to be making a mess and have lots of fun doing it too !

Now.. remember.. the kit contains ALL the papers and embellishments that you will need.
AND !!! you also get the full instructions so that you can create these layouts too.

But I must say that Leanne at Mad About Scrappin sells these kits for such an amazing price. I haven't as yet found kits anywhere that you get so much for such a great price !

So what are you waiting for .. hop over to the Mad About Scrappin Facebook Page but you better be quick as kit numbers are limited.

Timeless papers for Timeless projects

This month I've been happily crafting with the beautiful Kaisercraft 'Timeless' collection available from the Mad About Scrappin Store. These were so much fun to play with, the wonderful mixture of patterns have a very eclectic feel to them. I found once I started using them I wanted to keep going, so I did :)

The first thing I made was a little Inspirational Quote Book, it contains four double pages each with a quote and vintage photo. Each page has a pocket that holds a small folder containing two herbal tea bags. I've decorated the book using new and vintage laces together with doilies and flowers which I think go so well with this lovely paper collection.

Next up is a lovely little trinket box I've made to store some laces in. Because it's Autumn in Australia I chose to go with a cornucopia made of Hessian spilling out all the lovely flowers and beads, I fussy cut a butterfly from the paper and added it to the top. The lid is also decorated with a 'WOW' flourish, the new Kaisercraft 'Crackle' stamp and an assortment of beads, all purchased from a couple of 'Flog it Friday' sales on the Mad About Scrappin facebook page.
Inside you will see I've used simple cardboard covered in the paperline for the lace holders.

Lastly there is a simple tag made with the papers, a doily piece added on top with ribbon, shabby flower and a bead dangle that can be removed. On the back I chose a section of paper that had a little decoration but plenty of spare space to write on.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope you've enjoyed seeing these projects :)

March Colour Inspiration with Lou

Happiness

March's Mad about Scrappin's Facebook Challenge is a colour inspiration one,

Gorgeous shades of green, cream and pink... LOVE this colour combo.

I purchased in a previous Flog it Friday the 'Fiction' collection from Basic Grey and I was able to match these colours perfectly from the range

Aren't these papers Divine!
First point of call was to grab my Kraft Core and pick a background colour, I went with a pale pink and then I distressed the left and right edges and sanded them and finished with a swipe of Antique Linen Ink.

I then took the pale green number sheet from the 'Fiction' pack, cut this down and ripped it along one edge. I then inked it with my staple Antique Linen to keep with the cream in the inspiration. I then placed some brown chevron Washi tape along the left hand side and I also wanted to create another layer which I had seen in the Basic Grey papers, so I then taped a piece of lace under the torn edge.

I wanted to look soft on this edge and I think, that I achieved this. I wanted to create some interest over the patterned paper background and I decided on inking through two different masks with Antique Linen, one the bold circles in the centre and the other mask to give another element of a border around the page.  Next step was to cut a large pennant shape out of the pink floral paper, distress, ink it and stick this down. As well as the 3 small strips to give the balance.

Another one of my staples is the Polaroid Frames from Kaisercraft, love, love, love these. My picture was already square as it is an instagram photo of my darling daughter last winter building a sand castle in our sand pit. But I wanted to echo it further with the added frame and I knew this would give me the space for a title.

If you saw my blog entry last month then you know that I have a love of little embellies and I collect lots of bits and pieces. I also never as a rule throw any scrap paper away.... So the rest of my papers have come from 'My Stash' for instance the pink little miss muffet paper (Lily Bee) is actually grey, I inked it with Spun Sugar distress ink to match the page.  Also the view finder is from a sheet of Echo Park, I use them all the time, great for that little something on a page.

I love texture and adding a small amount of muslin to my page, gave it another soft effect and also meant I could create little clusters of embellies, buttons, rhinestones and drips of glimmer.

I used on this page, flowers, rhinestones and paperclip from Prima, Antique tickets, Glimmer mist in Vintage Pink and Decadence. Heidi Swap title and definition.  Lots and lots of embellies from Mad about Scrappin Flog it Friday's on Facebook

Here is the finished Page

I hope you like the page I am rather fond of it myself
Go on leave Leanne and the girls some love
xx Lou

Colour Challenge fun

Hello everyone.

Michelle here.

Back to share with you my take on this month's challenge at Mad About Scrappin.

But before I do here's the challenge  again for you

Super easy one this month. So easy to play with and absolutely LOVE the colour combination.

So here's my take on these colours.

Was quite a lot of fun playing around with this one. The best bit for me was that I had these colours already in my stash AND a photo that suited the colours perfectly already printed. Certainly couldn't have made the challenge any easier that's for sure.

Why not give this month's challenge a go.

Get scrapping !

Lace Spools using 'Glitz' by Jeanette

I recently made these lovely lace spools to send as a gift for a friend, the one with black lace is a 'display' spool but the other two are for storing lace, some laces just need a lovely way to display them and these are an easy and fun way with a personal touch.

It's great finding nice packaging and display ideas and these lace spools are so very easy to make. You will need a TP (toilet paper) roll and two circles of cardboard (may be packaging materials) cut about 2 inches larger than the diameter of the roll itself. You can use the full length of the TP roll or cut it down a little (tube rolls will also work, just cut to length). Cover the TP roll with your fav paperline, I used the gorgeous 'Glitz - Hello Friend' papers, then cover the top and bottom sections, allow to dry and adhere to the TP roll and decorate as desired.  I used packaging cardboard for mine and rolled different parts back carefully to create interest. The beautiful flowers are the 'Azaleas, Curly Roses and Cherry Blossoms' which I purchased from 'Flog it Friday' on Mad About Scrappin's Facebook page, together with a 'Cosmos Daisy' from the store and lovely green velvet 'Leaves' also from 'Flog it Friday'. Add a little ribbon, some pearls and small doilies and then fill with your fav lace and you have a beautiful display or gift for someone special.

I hope you like these spools and thanks for stopping by
