Creative Inspiration Layout

Hello readers and welcome to my Mad About Scrappin Monday project share.  Today I have a layout that I have created using the papers .... from My Minds Eye Jubilee - "Adventure" Be Daring Paper.  These papers are from a recent kit I received from Leanne.  I just love the wooden floorboard background and it went perfectly with this pic of my son on his motorbike.

I have added some splatters to the background using some Lindy's Stamp Gang spray in Tibetan Poppy Teal and the black splatters are just some watery black acrylic paint that splattered on with a paintbrush.

I have used large teal-ish coloured enamal dots, wooden "wow" icon, green bakers twine, buttons and a little "Enjoy Life" badge that were included in this kit. Well readers there isn't much more to tell so I will let the pictures do some of the talking.
I have added a Kaisercraft rub-on to the one of the journalling spots and to the paper strip.

Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope you have enjoyed this week's project.  As always guys....please check out the links below to see what other happenings have been going on over at Mad About Scrappin.

Creative Inspiration - Week 13 2015

Good morning all.

I almost forgot to get this blog post up and running.

Anyways... once again I have been playing around and making a mess with some more of the "Something Wonderful" product range from Teresa Collins.

This week I have certainly made a bit of a mess creating this layout as I have played around with a bit of paint for my base.
I still have a bucket load of card stock in a wonder of colours that I just cant seem to work with. Well this week I decided it was time to hit that stash. Will a bit of paint and some stamping I have been able to create a base that I was happy with. I have also trimmed the green card stock and matted it with the white to tie in the patterned paper.

All the embellishments on this page tie into the wood veneer frame that I have used to frame my photo. This keeps the embellishments simple as I have mixed them up. Because it has been kept simple the brighter colours of this paper really pop out.

I had a ball playing around with some embroidery floss and stitching on this layout. I felt it added that little bit extra. I like too how it works with the whole square pattern of this layout that I have carried through with everything. I like how the stamp just peeks through too. I have used a dove grey staz on ink so that the stamped pattern is subtle in the background.

Have you got a pile of card stock just sitting there in your stash you don't use ?

Why not mix it up and create your own base.

Till next week,

TFL, Michelle x

Photo Folio/Mini Album

Hello Everyone, well it is Monday down here in my neck of the woods and it is time for to share my Mad About Scrappin Monday project.  Today I have a little photo folio that I have created using the gorgeous Graphic 45 Time to Celebrate paper pad.

I have been watching a few youtube vids on these of late and decided to give one a try.  I have made mine smaller than most, but it is great for those instagram pics.  I won't go into too much detail on how to construct this as there are soooo many tutorials over on youtube.

I have created the cover from some extra thick poster board that I have covered with some Dark brown Card stock and then matted with the papers.
I have used a paper punch to create a lacey border with I topped with some vintage cotton lace.  I have added some bling and flowers from my stash.  I created the closure with some crinkled seam binding that I dyed using Tim Holtz Tattered Rose ink.

On the inside I have created a pocket which holds three tags for journalling or they could be places to mat some photos. On the right handside I have created a double sided waterfall that will hold up to 8 photos.

Here are some close ups and more glamorous pics for you......

I also have a little pocket with a tag for journalling.....

Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope you have enjoyed this week's project.  As always guys....please check out the links below to see what other happenings have been going on over at Mad About Scrappin.

Creative Inspiration - Week 12 2015

Hello everyone.

I hope that everyone has been having a fun month of March so far.

Here we have been busy with preparing for one of my daughters to do her first ever solo performance for Calisthenics for Graceful girl. We have had extra solo practice sessions added to the mix of weekly practices to her Calisthenics routine. This means that at the moment three out of 7 days of the week have been filled with Calisthenics. It keep us busy but it is so good to see how far the girls have come with the sport they love.

Anyway.... when I haven't been chasing girls to and from Calisthenics I have been madly scrapping away with some more of this Teresa Collins paper range from Mad About Scrappin.

This week I have played around with a few photos of one of my daughters when she was mucking around in my scrap room to create this layout.
I played around a little with this layout using a bold coloured card stock as my base. I have then use minimal patterned paper but what I have used was the more bolder brighter side. I have also stitched a little here and there on this layout the give this a little bit of texture. I really wanted to keep it very simple.

The paper range has a matching sticker set which has some pennant flag stickers. I decided to use these as my embellishments on this layout. I added some bakers twine and then adhered the pennant flags to the twine using a bit of 3D foam to give them dimension to match up with the height of the twine. I have used a date flag to add a little bit of a feature to this layout at the top over lapping some matching patterned paper from the range.

I have then finished off the layout using some more of the matching stickers from the range to add a few accents here and there. Some I have attached using 3D foam to give a bit of dimension.

This week I have really kept it simple because I really didn't have a lot of time to scrap.

What sort of things do you create when you are time poor ?

Well.. till next week.

Get creative.

Layout - "Love"

Hello readers and welcome to my creative inspiration post.  Today I have a layout to share with you all.  This is my creative team inspiration for Mad About Scrappin.  I have used one of the kits that can be bought from the shop.  This kit is full of papers from Amercan Crafts - Shimelle and some really cute wooden icons, flowers and buttons.

I think this is the first time that I have ever used just plain cardstock as my back ground or base page.  I have also used a sketch that I found on pinterest.  I have hand sewn the circles and stamped some splodges and splatters on with Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink.  I love how when this ink dries, it fades a little bit, making the stamping more subtle.

Here are all the glamour pics ...

I love this gorgeous fabric flower that was in the kit.....softened the corner of the polariod photo frame just nicely....
For this corner accent I have used some of the leftover paper strip from the main layout.  Stamped "love you" and added some of the splatter stamping in Black Soot.  I really love the wooden heart, I feel it finished off the corner.
Here is a close up of my hand sewing.  I was going to use my machine, but it just didn't like the card stock, so I resorted to doing it by hand.  Yes it is a little time consuming, but so worth the effort.  Don't you think?

well readers that is it....we are back to the beginning.  Oh one more thing...that lovely arrow with the heart was cut from some black card stock on my Cameo and the "Love" title is a laser cut from previous kits.

As always thanks for stopping by.  I sure do enjoy your company. Please be sure to check out the links below to see what my other creative team mates have been up to...

....remember to live your bliss......

Creative Inspiration - Week 11 2015

Hello all...

Well its Friday the 13th...

No.. I am not superstitious...

I am however in love with the colours in this paper range by Teresa Collins sent to me to play with by Mad About Scrappin

So with no further ado here's this weeks creation.

The photo I had I really wanted to play with however it just didn't go with the colours in the paper range. So instead I have turned the photo to black and white. I have then stuck to this basic colour scheme and added just a few pops of colour from this paper range. I have also found a super old large playing card in my stash that worked really well as a base for the photo. I have also used a few pops of pink to help this layout have a bit of a feminine feel as it is my three girls I am scrapping about.

I have used washi as a border for the whole layout again. I find this a quick way to add that little extra plus the white card stock looked a bit empty without a border.
I have also been playing around with different types of paper clips a bit lately and have found the owl shaped office paper clips are perfect to add a bit of washi tape to to make a pennant clip.
Have added a few to the layout to create some interest here and there.

Yes... I was a little crazy when I designed this layout. I wanted to use hexagons on this page. So I have created hexagons that are 1.5' in size from the patterned paper. Then have created my own pattern as the base for this layout on the white card stock. I have then used some pink floss to add some stitching as a feature on a few of the layouts. Super easy and fun too. To carry the stitched theme I have added some extra stitch lines and then finished the layout off with some acrylic pink alphas from my stash.

I love how this has turned of and had heaps of fun creating this to share.

Well off to enjoy the day.

Till next week.
