Creative Inspiration - Creating with strips

Hello again.

I am looking forward to sharing with you today a layout I have created using the Prima Coffee Break Pattern Paper Range by Pebbles.

So without further ado...
This time around I have played around with some of the patterned paper for the base of the layout which I have matted on cream card stock. Once again I have added some bright neon green washi to add a bit of pop to the page.

I have added a white shipping tag for the base of my title which I have stamped with some roses which match the floral pattern on the paper. I have then clustered the matching paper flowers that Leanne sent me with a super cute butterfly. I love the journal cards that come on on of the 12'x12' sheets in the paper range. They are subtly patterned and easily add a little extra.

Once again I have stitched on this layout. I quite like the look of  stitching to add details on a layout.
I loved using this paper range for the photos of my kids from the summer holidays. They have a really summery feel with the colours in this paper range.

Well off to sort out some more blog posts.

Till I share again.

Get creative.

Creative Inspiration - Bit of a change... always good.

Yes... I know... I didn't get a post up for last Friday...

Huge apologies but things have been bedlam here and I seem to be chasing my tail. Everything was done, as I have a few older layouts created from a kit that had missed being shared.

Plus I want to be able to share the work that has been missed but will share the layouts over a few days so that I don't have posts that are too photo heavy.

So... I would like to share with you this week, three layouts that I have created using the Prima Coffee Break Pattern Paper Range by Pebbles. I loved working with this paper range. There were so many elements on the background paper that create a bit of interest on the base layout.

Today I would like to share this layout I have used some of the patterned for the base which I have matted on some black card stock. Now because the base paper is patterned I have only added a few smaller pieces of the contrasting paper from the range to the layout.
For this layout I have used photos from the start of the school year. I don't normally work with this many photos so I have printed these off to smaller sizes to make them work with this layout. I have also used some brighter plain washi tape to add a bit of pop to the dark background.

I love using coloured paper doilies on layouts. I find they add a little bit of colour pop quite easily without any huge effort. I have then used some of the patterned paper to create a tag for the sub title of my layout and finished the title off with some chipboard numbers.

I love the die cut wooden typewriter. I have added it to the journal card I have stamped and some cute pink typewriter washi tape. I have also hand stitched on this layout to add a bit of a feature of the added paper strips.

I quite like having a play with the paper range I think because the patterned base gave me a great base to start from with decorating the layout.

Well... better get back to it.

Looking forward to sharing again tomorrow the next layout in this paper range.

Creative Inspiration - Week 41 2015

Happy Friday everyone.

It's almost the end of the school holidays here in South Australia. It has been a crazy time here and I feel like I need a holiday to get over the school holidays. I have been busy playing catch up around the house and yard, getting prepared for placement in the next term and catching up with my much neglected Project life folder for 2015. However, I have managed to find some time to sneak in a quick page this week using the last of the Carte Bella - Moments and Memories paper range that Leanne sent me to play with.

I have quickly created this layout this week using the last scraps from the paper range using a photo of Mr J that I love.
I don't seem to get a chance to scrap boy layout that often. When I do I seem to struggle at times to work out how to embellish them. I also seem to over think the layouts sometimes. This layout I can say took me half hour from start to finish. It was literally a pop the scraps of the page in the sizes that were already cut and away we go. I just went with it and really didn't take too much time thinking about it. I also messed around with a little bit of ink splattering too.

I have used some more of the cute black and white newspaper print washi to frame the layout which I have created on a Kraft card stock base.  I love too how the colours of paper from the Carte Bella paper range that were left just worked perfectly with the photo that I had pre-printed without much effort too. Because I have been doing some spring cleaning here I have been using up the last odds and ends of old medium sized alpha stickers. I have used some to create a bit of interest on the layout. I also felt it helped to tie the bold black jacket in the photo to the layout itself. As most of the layout was flat I have added some dimension with the bakers twine and then finished it off with the word flair I had been sent to play with.

I love these little kraft journal spots too. i have quite a few in my stash. The add that little extra without too much effort. During my cleaning out I have found my dymo which has been hidden under my stash so I have added a few words as a bit of a feature on the page. It was fun to play with again as I am kinda over using alpha stickers at the moment, after all the Project Life stickers I have been playing with. Will be rethinking how to add details to my Project Life next year I think.

Anyways... sometimes it isn't about being able to spend a whole day scrapping... sometimes its just about finding the time to get a quick job done in half an hour to be able to relax.

Why not set aside a half hour today to get creative and relax.

Till next week,

Creative Inspiration - Week 40 2015

Well... so starts another month. It seems that this year is just whizzing by before my eyes.

This month is going to be a another made and crazy month I can already see. First up we have my eldest finishing her school career in a couple of weeks. Then its my son's 12th birthday. Then to end the month, I have my eldest daughter's 18th birthday with a big party planned to boot !!!! But on top of it all I have placement for TAFE at the same time as this madness!!!!! Oh my... really hope to stay on top of things this month that's for sure.

Anyways... I have been creating with the last bits and pieces of the Carte Bella - Moments and Memories paper range sent to me by Leanne.

This week I have created a pocket page using a mix of the papers from the range.
I quite like making pocket page layouts as it is something a little different. I also find it the easiest way to be able to use more than one 4'x6' photo on a page without it looking too crowded. Plus the fact that you are able to personalise each pocket too. I used the patter paper to matt each photo too and printed the photo with minimal colours so that the colours in the patterned paper shine.

I have used a mix of bits and bobs to personalise each pocket that was free of a photo. I have used a mixed up the title for the layout using a die cut chipboard word and some medium sized alpha stickers. I have tied them all together by colouring them all black to match. I have also added some black newspaper print washi to add a bit of interest into the background on the card.

I love layering coloured and white paper doilies at the moment. Adds a bit of dimension and colour easily. I have them adhered them to a graph journal card that I have printed with some digital stamps. Then finished off this pocket by adding a wood grain wreath I have coloured black and some matching paper flowers.

The final pocket I kept simple as I found the pattern on the paper was a bit busy already with the frames. Once again I have layered up some paper doilies and then added a die cut butterflies from my stash. The pocket was then finished off with a journal spot from the paper range.

Quick a bit of fun to create and ended up having a bit of different feel to this layout in the end. I think the little pops of black and the brighter red paper doilies give it a different bold feel.

Well... off to get some cards made for the upcoming birthdays.

Looking forward to sharing some more this month.

Take care, Michelle x
