Altered Muffin/Cupcake Tin

For this weeks project I'm sharing my Altered Muffin/Cupcake tin with you all. I'm very pleased with the way this turned out and am sending it to someone special as a thank you gift. It's filled with some delicious yumminess for her to craft with so I'm sure she will enjoy it.

To put this little project together firstly I found myself a tin from the thrift/op shop and painted it thoroughly with gesso, I then decoupaged a lovely white printed napkin all over and waited for it to dry. Once dry I covered the top in a pva glue and layered a lovely large lace fabric and sprinkled a little glitter on, this was the base I was going to work on. With the help of the gorgeous flowers from Mad About Scrappin this easily became a lovely piece. I used white curly roses, cosmos dailsies and the gorgeous gardenias and a Kaisercraft bling flourish that I picked up at a Flog it Friday sale on the Mad About Scrappin Facebook page. 

Around the edges I used the lovely Pearl Beads in white and the sweet little white lace trim that has been a favourite of mine for a long time, both from Mad About Scrappin.

After adding paper cupcake wrappers to each of the pans I attached a pair of small handles at each end and tied a beautiful double bow of Seam Binding to one side

In one of the pans I made a simple pin cushion from a tart tin and stuck a few stick pins inside and continued to fill the remaining pans with lovely goodies, all in a vintage theme.

It was an everyday moment...

Hi everyone!! {waving furiously} I'm so excited to be here to share my very first blog post and layout as a design team member at  Mad About Scrappin! Yay!  This month I took my cues from Mad's monthly Facebook challenge....

And I took my inspiration from this pin on Pinterest...

I'm really loving typography at the moment!
And so, here it is, my take on the challenge...

I had so much fun creating this layout, I really got in and got my hands dirty! I love inking things up, adding lots of rough layers, and some staples for that extra bit of grunge!

Included is an everyday moment (playing after bath time), lots of journaling (in the title & behind the picture), and stamping in the title and amongst my layers and embellishments. 

I have used lots of Flog it Friday goodies on this page (my favourite time to shop btw!), so make sure you keep an eye out for the next one!!

Mad About Scrappin - Layout of the Week - Week 8

 

Hello all. Back again to share with you yet another layout I have created using this amazing paper range available now at Mad About Scrappin.

 

I just love how versatile this paper range is.

 

Once again I have been a little time poor here with very little time to be able to spend scrapping. Most disappointed about that I must say.

 

So with that in mind I have kept this layout simple. I have tried to mix the papers up a little too because they are double sided I have tried to play with as many patterns as possible. Because this range works so well together my job was made very easy.

 

 I also decided to raid my kitchen stash of paper doilies to add a little bit extra to this layout. I had started to layer my embellishments only to find that the layout needed to have that little bit more to help the embellishments show up on the base paper.

 

 

Now I must also say that the fun bit about this paper range too is that even the designer strip on these papers can also be used. Half of the strip is patterned to contrast to match the paper range. I was able to use one of these strips to add just that little bit extra below.

Lastly I love being able to use washi tape on my layouts as well. For this layout I adhered some love heart washi tape to some scrap card stock I had laying around. I then cut it to size and it just help to make the  other papers strips stand out.
