Cards with a bit of stamping

Belinda back today to show you how a little bit of stamping can make a card. And it does not have to be much, a saying a little pic or just 'Happy Birthday'. and stamps can be used over and over again!!!

I have used my left over paper from 'I Love Candy' Echo Park Range ( check it out Here) plus stamps in my stash

First up is a very simple card. After sticking down the strips of paper in the right and left hand side I stamped the stamp with a bit overlapping the paper. The 'No matter' is a sticker from the collection. My hubby just loves this card (which is a first lol)

After layering the paper I stuck the chocolate bar (from the candy range) and stamped a saying. It says ' Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories' Cathy Allen (works well with that chocolate) The hearts are also stickers from the range.

The background was a die that I cut from one of the papers from the Candy range and so is the 'Sweet' die. I then added from seam binding (that you can get HERE) sequins (go HERE for them) and a little stamp 'a little something for a little someone'.

All 3 were made in 35 mins. Awesome for the time short people (like me)

Don't forget to enter into the sketch challenge, head HERE to see the CT takes.

Thanks for looking

Fun In The Sun

Hi Belinda here today to show you my take on the January Sketch by Anne Patterson. Since its the middle of summer I could not but do a layout about the beach.

I did change a few things from the sketch but that's the best thing about sketches, they are a starting point. I also added lots of journaling around the edges of the paper.

I used the awesome Teresa Collins 'Memories' range. The title is stamped as some shells (trying to get more out of stamps, I will have a post on cards that I used stamps on coming up). I also used shells that was picked up from the beach that day.

This was not part of the sketch wanted to show some more beachy things.

And here is the sketch. I just love how this can be interpreted in sooo many different ways.
As of next month the sketches go back to being a challenge for everyone to enter. There will be a linky thing on this blog to link up the challenges. There will be 2 awesome prizes up for grabs, gotta love that!!!

Playing with Echo Park

Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope you are having a fab day with family and friends!!!

I am here to today to show you what I did with Echo Parks Mini Theme collection 'I love Candy'. I , as you know, just LOVE Echo Park and this mini theme was no different. It comes with 2 sheets each of the 3 papers and a sticker sheet. I love Candy was bright, fun to play with PLUS I got 2 layouts out of it with enough to make cards!!! Now that's what I call good value. I also got to play with 3 lots of WOW Wood Veneer. They are just like chipboard only thicker, which makes it great to emboss, paint, ink...the list goes on.

First up is a layout of hubby and 2 of our girls eating ice cream.

One of the sheets of paper have great title die cuts (or you could just use them as extra embellishments). Here I used the arrow wood veneer. All I did was gesso them and inked with yellow.

I have used one sheet of the range as my background and cut up 2 for the banner. The words on the right side are from the sticker sheet. The heart is another wood veneer, again gessoed and inked red.

With these 'stamped' hearts.... they are the wood veneer hearts!!! I just inked them yellow, stamped on the page and then went around in black pen. I just loved the effect.

And last for this page, the wood veneer word smile.

This layout is of my oldest daughter at a park.

(very sorry about the photos, it was taken in a rush before we left to go to my parents house for Christmas) These wood veneer hearts were gessoed and inked. I then went around each one and wrote things that I loved about my daughter. I added sticker hearts from the range and sequins from the shop.

The wood veneer word is love, again gessoed and inked. The flower is from the shop. After inking the edges of it I sprayed with water and blended the ink in.

If you are looking for this range head HERE and the wood veneer head HERE

Well thats me today. I hope you have a great time with family and friends and that you get a bit of scrapping in.

Thanks for looking

November Sketch Challenge

Photobucket

Hi, I am here today to show you my take on Anne Patterson Sketch. I have to say I LOVED doing this sketch and has to be one of my fav layouts that I have done this yr. Since it was an Anne Patterson sketch I was going to do stitching, but in the end decided against it and went with doodling.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my take:

The sketch just screamed to me to use a photo of each of my girls. I have used one of the new Kaisercraft stamps (they are sold out ) and stamped in the area of where the paper squares were going. I also lightly misted.

The paper range I used is Fancy Pants 'Collecting Moments' (Head here to find in store) The butterflies are from the range, I used a die and my die machine to cut them out.

The squares are 4x4. After distressing the edges I used black pen and doodled around each one.

The title is from Jilibean Soup (Head here to find them).

Thanks it for me today,

August Facebook Inspiration from Lou

Hello All, Lou here

I'm glad to be back with my page to inspire you with the new challenge from Mad about Scrappin's Facebook page.  The August Challenge criteria is

So we need to scrap an everyday moment, I scrapped a pair of photo's of my eldest daughter getting her hair done and how cheeky she was that day.
Next we need lots of journalling, I'm not a fan of my handwriting so I hid my story on a tag behind the body of the page.

Lastly, we need some stamping... I hoard stamps and this was a great excuse to use them on my page, you can see in this photo the printing and floral flourish, these have been stamped on this gorgeous paper, which is Carta Bella's range 'Hello Again'

LOVE this paper!

Loving Gold at the moment and I have covered my embellishments with Gold Pearl paint, and added a mass of yellow/gold sequins.
For a finishing touch I sewed around the border of the page.

Here is my page in full...

The Best Wink! Wink! eva.

Hope this inspires you to create this weekend. Plenty of time left to get your entry in by the 25th of the month, just link it up to our Facebook page
