Mad About Scrappin - Layout of the Week - Week 13

Hello to you all once again.

 

Here to share with you another fun layout I have created using the "Well Played" paper range by Carte Bella.

This week I have played around with some kraft card stock I have had laying around in my stash. I love kraft card stock as it seems to created a simple fun layout. It really helps the paper to be the feature of the layout rather than adding another colour with coloured card stock.

 

So here's what I have created for you with the last bits and pieces

Sometimes it is hard too to try and work out just how to embellish a boys layout. I tend to keep it simple and play around with a mix of embellishments. For this I have used a mix of the "Well Played" adhesive stickers, a kraft coloured envelope, washi tape, some natural twine and made some pennant flags from scraps of the paper.

 

some times it is just all about mixing it up and playing around with your scraps.

Keeping it simple with a monthly challenge !

 Good Morning All.

 

So hard to believe that yet another month has started and the year us passing us by so fast.

 

And with the start of a new month comes another fun filled challenge from Mad About Scrappin.

 

This months challenge was a little different this month as it is a sketch.

Just for something a little different this month I decided to play around with some scraps and some washi tape.

 

Here's my take on this months sketch challenge.

 

By using up a pile of scraps I felt better know that I am almost at the end of another kit and that I have used up every tiny piece. I also love using bits of contrasting washi tape to create a "frame" to my photos and card stock base. It just gives it all a little bit of a different feel without any huge effort.

 Another super easy tip is to use those paper doilies you have laying around the place to add that little extra to your layout. I randomly stamped mine as having them stark white just didn't seem to help them to blend in with the rest of the paper.

 

Just remember that sometimes layouts don't have to full of lots of work and tizziness. Some times its all about letting the photos tell the story and keeping it simple.

Marie Antoinette Altered Tart Tins

This week's project is a little different, it's a style I haven't tried before and I must admit it was a lot of fun to make. 

Using a vintage tart tin I painted it the colour of choice, I used pink and blue for my projects and then decorated them in similar colours. Firstly I chose which image I wanted to use and cut it to the size of the inside center of the tin. I then lined the sides with a lace trim and added pearl beaded trim also. A generous colleciton of dainty flowers was arranged on the lower sides and a spinkling of beads added to finish the look. On the upper part a flower or two were placed for added decoration.

The top edge of the tin was then further enhanced with a little German glass glitter. A very generous seam binding bow and a hanger made from the pearl beaded trim were attached to the top..

To complete the tins, a dangle was placed at the bottom made up of glass beads and an acrylic chandelier style bead.
