You are my Happy - using Teresa Collins paper range

Happy Wednesday everyone, hope you are having a fantastic week. Today I'm sharing a layout I created using Teresa Collins' Paper range 'You are my Happy' and some flowers and embellishments from the Mad about Scrappin store.

 

'You are my Happy' 

Most people that know me know Pink is not a 'go to' colour of choice for me. When I was scrolling through the paper ranges online my youngest son Fletcher (who LOVES pink) spotted this range and insisted I get it and do a layout for him.

I loved the name of this paper range and thought it would be a great idea to use it for the title of my layout.

 

I also don't normally use flowers on a 'boys page' but this layout seemed to come together really easy and the flowers I used worked so well with the colours of this layout. I inked the heart shaped wood Veneer shape and the 'XOXO' and 'You' circles come from one of the patterned papers In this range.  

 

I added this bow just to balance the layout, the Seam Binding is so soft and easy to manipulate on layouts and projects. There are so many different colours of Seam Binding available in store too.

Paper Bag Recipe Mini Album Part II

Hey everyone, so I am back and with my finished paper bag recipe mini album.  You may remember me sharing the first part or the construction part of this mini just a week or so ago.   This mini was created from my Mad About Scrappin design team kit for February.  The papers used through out are from the Carta Bella Range - Homemade with Love.  These paper are just so rich in their colours and have a  slightly vintage-y or may be even a retro feel to them.  I have downloaded some free images from the internet to embellish and create my recipe tags with..... So enough of that chatter here are the pics!!

Who is up for the challenge?? - by Crece T

Hello everyone, Crece here with you today for my first blog post as part of the Design Team here for Mad About Scrappin. I'm so excited to share with you my layout I created using this months Challenge Sketch that was created by our very talented Amy Prior.     Here is my take on the sketch...   'Friends are a priceless treasure'

  This layout is of my partner in craft/crime Tracey and myself at a retreat we were at a couple of years ago.   My interpretation of the sketch is a little different...As you can see I didn't use the 4 photos that are on the sketch (I do struggle to use more then 2 pics on a page) Instead I used 1 photo and tried to keep the other elements of the sketch.  

 

I stitched the round scallop design on the layout in place of the circle, and didn't use paint on my layout instead opting to use a piece of recycled box that I ripped and added a doily runner I had in my stash under the banner of stickers from the sticker sheet from the Collecting Moments Collection by Fancy Pants.

 

    I distress a lot of my edges and then rub ink over them so they are not so crisp and clean looking, I love the look this can give to a layout, a simple technique that can make such a difference.     The paper range and Sticker sheet I used was Collecting Moments by Fancy Pants I also used  Maddison Chiffon Bloom in Pink (I love these flowers & they come in other colours too)      Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and you get a chance to join in with our Sketch Challenge this month - cant wait to see all the entries xxx   Thanks for looking,
