Creating with a kit - September Skies Kit

Back to share with you the first of two kits I have worked with on behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

This is the first of the two that I want to show you called September Skies.

The first layout was quite a fun layout. I have played around with some fun photos of my girls and one of their good friends at the playground we took last month. I have created with the mixed patterns in this paper range to create pennant flags to embellish this layout. 

The title I have used hand cut the word happy and then mounted it onto some of the matching patterned paper and then hand cut it out again. 

I have also added some hand stitching to add a little detail. However you could do the same with a journal pen should you not enjoy hand stitching on your layout. 

I have then added some interest to the layout using a mix of matching buttons from my stash and one of the flairs from the kit to finish it off. 

I played around with the florals in the next layout. I loved the bolder colours in the floral pages. I have teamed that up with the bolder red orange papers from this kit to add a bit of contrast on the black cardstock. 

Once again I have created my own embellishments for this layout. I have hand cut some stars from the floral paper and then mounted them onto the bolder red orange dot paper. I have adhere them staggered using some 3D foam tape to create dimension. 

I have used a couple of stamped to add some details to a graph journal card from my stash to add a little bit extra to the page. I have then used a office paper clip and jazzed it up with washi tape. 

Super easy and fun to play with. 

The last layout I have played around with the blues and greens from the kit. I have added a journal card to this layout too. Half of the graph journal card has been stamped with a number stamp and the other half I have border punched. These I have then layered with a lined paper bag and added the wood veneer balloon for some interest. 

Once again I have played with another paper clip with washi tape. This I have added to another piece of  graph journal card and finished off with a flair from the kit.

I have finished the layout off with a few touches of washi tape to add a bit of interest. 

All three of these layouts were super easy to create and fun.

2 very different layouts using Heidi Swapp Paper

Hi I am here to show you that with 1 range of papers you can create a very mix media layout and a not so mix media layout. I did this using the awesome Heidi Swapp range that is HERE and, of course, loads of MAS products.
First up the not so mix layout. I say it this way as I did create the background using texture paste, mask and mist but compared to the other one is not really mix media.

I got the White Cardstock and created the background as I said above so I ended up with a green background.

After cutting the paper into 4 inch squares and gluing to the card I drewed around it all using a Black Pen. Then I added these awesome Flowers

The words 'Love and Together' was added last. A quick page but man do I love the bright colours!!!

Onto my very mixed media page. For the background I kept one Heidi Swapp paper as my background and cut the 2nd sheet up in strips and glued them on the page, leaving space in between to see the background on. I then added gesso over some of the cut lines.

After that was dried I added these stunning Frames after I painted them with a slight colour. Then I added bits of Lace.

I cut up and added a different kind of Frame under my photo and then used lots of the new Flowers that has come in.

My Preppy Girl

  Hi All   Lou here to show you how easy this months challenge really is...  

1. Use a word for happiness, well lets go to the thesaurus for this.   Happiness can be beatitude, blessedness, bliss, cheer, cheerfulness, cheeriness, content, contentment, delectation, delight, delirium, ecstasy, elation, enchantment, enjoyment, euphoria, exhilaration, exuberance, felicity, gaiety, geniality, gladness, glee, good cheer, good humor, good spirits, hilarity, hopefulness, joviality, joy, jubilation, laughter, lightheartedness, merriment, mirth, optimism, paradise, peace of mind, playfulness, pleasure, prosperity, rejoicing, sanctity, seventh heaven, vivacity, well-being.   I used the word delight (tick) 2. Next use an altered embellishment, this can be as simple as changing the colour of your alphas which I did (tick)  

As you can see these alphas are a green/black colour but I wanted a solid black for my title, so hey pesto I grabbed one of my black pens and went colouring.

3. Last criteria, use a frame of some sort (tick)

I used a Polaroid frame from Kaisercraft and I altered this by adding some arrow stickers to it.



I also altered the main glitter alphas in my title by adhering them to black cardstock then cutting them out before placing them on my page for further oomph

  The papers I have used on this page are from Summer Stories range from Teresa Collins, lots of gold glitter which is very trendy at the moment. I purchased these from Mad about Scrappin Here.    Here is the full page of the June Facebook Challenge,
