Creative Inspiration - Week 25

Hello all. 

Back this week with a layout I have created using this photo freedom kit by Echo Park.

I must admit that since I have started to play around with these Photo Freedom kits on behalf of Mad About Scrappin I have fallen in love. I really enjoy the flexibility of these kits. I love the fact that you have the choice as to how you create with these kits. I do wish that I had discovered them earlier.

So here's this weeks layout I have created.

I decided this week to select one of the colour schemes from the kit to play around with. I them chose the 4'x6' portrait layout photo pages and the 4'x6' journal cards in the colour scheme I had chosen. I wanted to make the journal cards the feature of this layout so printed my photos off as black and white and then mounted them onto some graph journal cards in my stash. I have added a little washi tape and some word stickers to finish them off. 

Now I liked the colours of the journal cards however I really wanted to tie the different patterned journal cards together to give them a uniformed look. To do this I played around with Photo shop Elements and some photo brushes on a blank 4'x6' template I have. I then printed the journal cards with matching brushes in black. By printing on this colour I have found that the black really pops. 

To add a little bit of embellishment I have glimmer misted some die cut frames from Mad about Scrappin to give them a worn metal look. Little hard to see it them have a little shimmer to them too. I then layered them on the journal card with a paper doily and some butterfly die cuts I have had laying around in my stash for ages. I loved adding the final touch of random pearlized sequins in various sizes. 

For my title card I have used some Studio Calico alpha stickers as the main title and then some smaller Kaiser craft alphas to finish off the quote. I felt the quote finished off the layout nicely. 

I love the feel and look of the end layout. It has a little bit of dimensions without being too dimensional.

Most of all I loved printing the journal cards to suit my need. I can see myself doing that again. I feel that it has helped make the journal cards more usable to my needs. Plus it created a completely different feel to the layout by using more feminine brushes.

Bros -By Crece

Hello everyone Crece here,hope your Wednesday has taken off with a great start. Its pretty cold here this morning (great crafting weather actually)... Today Im sharing with you my take on this months Sketch by our very own Amy Prior...

Bros. 

I decided to flip the sketch around and use one large photo.

This is a photo of my 2 boys while we were away on our Easter camping trip.

I have used the Echo Park range called 'Summer Bliss' which was available from the Mad about Scrappin store. I love the bright colours and patterns in this range (ive used it lot)

 I love getting the coordinating sticker and embellishments sheets to go with the ranges. This particular range had some great stickers that I was able to use.

The lettering was great too, which is what i used to title my layout. I used a black marker pen to go around the letters to make them stand out against the background.

 I also used the 'fun in the sun' sticker and attached it with a peg a covered in washi tape.

Here I used the banner sticker tat was also on the same sheet, I cut it to size as it was very long (which gives me more to use on another layout or card)

By The Sea Wallet Flip Mini Album

Hey everyone I'm here to share with you all today My Mad About Scrappin Monday project.  It is a little mini album to go inside my Memento box from last week.

This little mini is relatively quick and easy to make.  I based it on the wallet style flip down postcard booklets you used to be able to get years ago.  I haven't seen any of these in ages so I am not so sure they are around anymore.  I have used two sheets of A4 black card stock to create mine.

I have cut both sheets 5 1/4" wide and the scored then scored them every 3".  I joined both pieces together and then matted with various pages from the 8x8 By the Sea paper pad.

 I have done some fussy cutting to embellish this mini and the closure is some bakers twine that I have wrapped around a button, which I topped with an image from the "Set Sail" patterned paper.

 I have used a selection of photos from our summer holidays down on the South Coast of New South Wales.  My photos are a large wallet size .

 Here it is in my Memento box from last week.
