Raining Cats and Dogs - Mini Album

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  Today I have my creative inspiration project share for Mad About Scrappin.

You may remember my mini album from a few posts back....you can see it here.  Well I have another one of these super quick and super easy mini's.  This one is created much the same, except I've added a 1/4" inch gusset to the scalloped flap to allow room for the mini to expand.

I have created the inner pages from some plain white card stock.   These pages measured roughly 4"x 8".  I folded them in half and then with some crochet cotton I sewed them to the inside of the card.

Once my little book was constructed I mat all my pages with what was left of the Graphic 45 paper pad "raining cats and dogs". Once again I have  printed out some black and white photo's of our newest furbaby and  I alternated each page with a photo and a pocket with tags for journalling.  Again, I was surprised at just how quickly this little pocket mini worked up...I had it done in no time at all.  I tried really hard to not over embellish and to keep it "flat" but as you can see by the pics...I wasn't overly successful at doing that :) I have used a Creative Memories tag punch through out and fussy cut the images from the paper collection.  As usual readers here are all the pics...

I hope you have enjoyed this week's project.  As always guys....please check out the links below to see what other happenings have been going on over at Mad About Scrappin.

Creative Inspiration - Week 10 2015

Hello everyone.

Wow... March already... this year just seems to be zooming past.

This week I am back to share with you a new kit that I was sent to play with
by Leanne at Mad About Scrappin.
The kit was full of lots of goodies to play with from the "Something Wonderful" collection
by Teresa Collins.

So here's the layout I have created this week.
I have stuck with two of the colours from the kit to create this layout. I have teamed the colours up with some black and white card stock, as I wanted to colours to pop out. On the white card stock I have grabbed an old Kaiser flower stamp set and stamped a mix of the different size flowers. I then stamped some of the same flowers onto some water colour paper using Staz on ink. I then gave them a light spray with fixative then water coloured them to match with the patterned paper. They have then been adhered to the page using 3D foam to create dimension.

Hidden just behind the white tag is another little paper bag from my stash. I wanted to add some pink to this layout as I love black, white, red and pink together. I have then added a mix of washi tape, red and white twine and a cute little chalkboard pennant flag to finish it all off.

I finished off the stamped flowers by add some teenie sequins that Leanne sent me for last months kit. They were so cute and were perfect to add that little bit of sparkle to the centre of the flowers.

Super quick layout create but had fun playing around with some older stamps and some water colour to tie the layout all together.

Well back to getting some scrap work done.

Till next week.

"Love You" Layout

Hello readers, welcome back.  Today I have a layout to share with you using a kit from Mad About Scrappin.  I recently received 3 kits from Leanne and gave her free reign of what she included.....and WOW guys she sent me some really awesome stuff to play with.....I couldn't wait to bust them open and play with everything.
All of the kits are comprised of papers from My Minds Eye - Jubilee and a great selection of embellishments.   So I decided that I would dive into this kit first!
The bright colours were out of my comfort zone, but sooooo inviting!! I just love how fresh and cheerful these papers felt.... This is what I came up with.
I have used the black card stock as my layout base, which I then topped with the vibrant Wild Berry "Today" inked paper.  I also cut into the Wild Berry "Life" diamonds paper to mat my photo and create the angled borders at the top and bottom.   I have distressed all the edges with a pair of scissors...I just love this look and I would have to say it is my favourite go to technique.  The bright pink card stock from my stash and it co-ordinates perfectly.
I have added a strip of the washi tape just under my photo mat and created my other go to favourite embellishing technique of the corner flower cluster.
From the pink wire that was included in the embellie bag I create a rather primitive looking heart...I just worked this up freehand, which explains its wonky, uneven look, but I was happy with the outcome and tucked it in behind the rolled rose.  I added a small Polaroid frame to the "love" journalling tag and finished it off the corner with the "So Happy" button.
I think I have covered everything.  This was such a great layout and the papers have a vibrant happy feel to them.  Thanks for stopping by and as always please stop by the links below to see what my fellow creative team has to share.  Also be sure to check out what kits are available this month in the store....
