Creative Inspiration - Week 30 2015

Good afternoon all.

No.. I hadn't forgotten to set this to go online this morning... Unfortunately the weather here is Adelaide has been miserable making taking photos a horror. I like to be bale to photograph my work outside in the natural light as I find I don't have to play around with the photos as much and it shows the true colours a lot better.

Anyways.. enough of reasons why I was a little late getting this online today.

I have a new paper range share with you today that I have been luck to have been sent by the lovely Leanne from Mad About Scrappin.

Here it is Crate Paper - Open Book range.

Now having my time a little slim this week with starting back at TAFE and major lots of meeting plus the added fact that my mojo seems to have taken a holiday without me due to exhaustion..lol..
I have kept it simple and created a pocket layout using some pocket pages that Leanne had popped in my parcel.
I have to say I quite enjoyed creating this pocket page. I was able to come back to it in stages and do what I felt like doing at the time. I think I kinda found my mojo am feel like scrapping again. Which I must say I am most excited about as I have quite a few things due in the next month.

I also got a chance to use up some of my mini paper paper bags from Mad About Scrappin whilst creating this too. I finds they are perfect for adding bits and pieces to pocket pages with ease. Perfect too for hiding little bits of journaling too. I love the floral paper in this range too. Whilst the flowers were quite large they were perfect for hand cutting. I have cut  a few out and layered them in a couple of the pockets using some 3D foam to add some dimension. I then scattered some mixed sequins to add a bit of sparkle.

I also had a bit of fun with some old rub ons from my stash to create a bit of interest in the pockets. I have used a mix of larger black and mixed lighter green rub on alphas first on the card for the pockets and then added some of the green alphas to the butterfly.

Because I didn't want to have photos in any of the pockets I decided to go with a quote. I have used a mix of mini alphas stickers, acrylic alphas and a chipboard word to create the quote.

I love being able to layer paper doilies. I was super excited when Leanne had the mini coloured doilies on sale at Mad About Scrappin. I bought a pack in every colour and must say that I MUST get more. They are just so cute and the colours they come in are just stunning!!!

Well... whilst my mojo is here I had better get scrappin.

Till next share.

Have a super weekend.

Crate Paper Card and Layout Share.

Hi, l hope everyone is well, and have been keeping warm. Hope everyone has had the chance to be able to have a play and Create the last few weeks. I have only just got back into my Studio myself  as l have been busy with work, and have been getting some horrible migraines.

Anyway l managed to do some Creating over the weekend. It was bitterly cold outside where l live. So was great to be able to be indoors, and have a play with my new kit that Leanne had sent me.
My kit this month included the gorgeous Crate Paper Open Book range.
They are so pretty, and gorgeous.

I made a Card and also a layout from some of this kit.
Firstly here is my card l made.

I love the metal vintage heart that l got in the kit that l used. Also with a wooden veneer butterfly, with a doily, and some flowers. I also made a little handmade paper flower and added some stamens too. I think it looked great on the card.

And here is my Card.

Next l have to share is my layout that l created using the same papers.
I used the Crate Paper Memoir paper, which l used a punch to punch around the page, then l mounted onto a Kraft card stock.  I used a Black and White photo of my daughter which was taken when she was just 4 years old. I added some of the Open Book papers that l cut into different lengths under my photo, and inked around the edges.

I used some Twine that l got in my kit, and made it look like a little clothes line at the top of my page.
Punched out some little banners with the papers, and inked and hung off the twine. Added with a little bird that l had in my stash.

I used some flowers, a little white bag, a tab, a flair, and some little collectables from my stash.
I added Kindy Glitz on my flowers and the gorgeous leaf that was in the kit.

I also added another one of my handmade paper flowers too on my layout.

Here is my layout.

Hope you liked stopping by this week.
Happy Creating
Tracey. x

Altered Notebook

Hi all and welcome to my Monday Creative inspiration share for Mad About Scrappin.  Today I have taken my leftovers and a few scraps to create this shabby chic inspired notebook cover.  I have used the gorgeous papers Junque Gypsy from Marion Smith.  I have really loved using these papers and I am hoping I can squeeze one more project out of them.

I have used what was left of the embellishments I received in the kit and only a few things from my stash... So without any further ado I will let the pictures do the talking....

Well guys, it's another really short and sweet post from me this week.  As always thanks for stopping by.  I sure do enjoy your company. Please be sure to check out the links below to see what my other creative team mates have been up to...

Creative Inspiration - Week 29 2015

Just a super quick share today....

Just wanted to show you the last thing I created using up the last scraps of MME Wild Berry Paper range.

This week I created a fun card for a special girl that had her fifth birthday not that long ago.
Because I wanted to mix it up a little I have stamped birthday words using Dove Grey Stazon ink onto the heart paper. I Then stamped the number 5 using Black Stazon ink. This has helped add a bit of dimension to the card.

By adding a largesatin bow I have kept it simple on a recycled card base. I have then printed a digital image and coloured her using some of  my mepxy markers. Added some kindy glitz to the cake sprinkles for a bit of sparkle and then  adhered the image using 3D foam tape.

Simple but effective card for a special little girl.

Are you getting creative this weekend ?

I am and cannot wait to share with you all a new paper range I have received.

Till then.

Creative Inspiration - Week 28 2015

Good morning everyone.

Wow... another super busy week here. In between getting kids back to school after school holidays I have been juggling getting sorted for study, calisthenics preparations and have had multiple doctors appointments from one end of town to the other.

Now.. I have the last layout I created a few weeks ago that I was super bad and didn't share to show you this week.

I played around with the last bits and pieces from the MME Wild Berry paper range that Leanne sent me.

So here's the layout I had created to share....
I love the bold lime green in this paper range. I have really made it pop by matting it onto some black card stock as my base for the layout. I have to admit too to always smiling myself every time I see this photo of my youngest daughter. It kinda makes me giggle. I mean we always seem to document the good moods and the smiles.. however this particular day my daughter was just not happy. I was running around with camera madly snapping away and managed to snap her looking this this. I said smile and this was the look I got. lol.

No to add a little bit extra I have played around with a few ticket stubs from my stash. I have then layered a mix of a kraft paper bag, washi tape and some stickers from my stash which all matched perfectly with the bright bold paper range. I love the nylon rosette too. Adds a bit of a feminine feel without being too girlie.

I have added a bit of detail to the layout too by hand stitching with some white floss on the black. I love the feel of the stitching on a layout. I then finished off the layout with some acylic alphas from my stash which I added a bit of sparkle to with some kindy glitz.

Super quick layout to create but heaps of fun.

Well.. back to the scrapping grind stone.. have a fun card to share with you tomorrow.

Junque Gypsy Easel Cards

Well readers it is sad to say that I have just about exhausted my one little 6x6 Junque Gypsy paper pad from Marion Smith and I have to say I am converted....I am now a Marion Smith girl all the way :D.  These papers are just divine and such good quality cardstock, I recommend them whole heartedly.

Today I have a couple of easel cards to share with all as my creative inspiration project for Mad About Scrappin and without any further ado here they are.

Unfortunately guys there's not much to really tell.  I have used 2 sheets of Kraft card stock to create the bases for these cards and I have fussy cut some of the tags and images from the papers.  I have even used up the extra pieces of Kraft card stock I had left over to re-inforce the bases.  I like to do this with easel cards, I feel it just makes them that little bit more stable and sturdy.

Well guys, thanks for joining me this week.  As always thanks for stopping by.  I sure do enjoy your company. Please be sure to check out the links below to see what my other creative team mates have been up to...

Creative Inspiration - Week 27 2015

Hello everyone.

Yes.. I know that my posts on the blog have been a little quiet over the past few weeks.

Unfortunately life has gotten in the way of my craft time and really just haven't had a chance to scrap at all. Quite sad really as I did miss scrapping.

Anyways... I did manage to get some scrapping done yesterday.. I was suppose to be studying and getting my last gap assignment done but took time out to get a pocket letter done that I owe and then I kinda ended up making three!

Now... I have been playing with the scraps from a kit set to me by Leanne at Mad About Scrappin. It has this super yummy and cute paper range Tangerine Adventures MME Jubilee.

I promise this week to show you the layouts that have been created to go with this kit which comes with FULL instructions on how to create the layouts!!!

So here's two of the pocket letters that I created with this paper range.

For both of the pocket letters I have used the paper range as the base for each pocket. Then it was a case of finding pits and pieces to add a bit of pop to each pocket. I have used a mix of bits and pieces from my stash along with some added goodies from several Mad About Scrappin sales.

I find that the mini paper bags from Mad About Scrappin provide super quick and easy pockets for the design. I am then able to hide little goodies in them. My favourite would be the kraft paper bags with the coloured letters.

The other thing I have found with pocket letters is that they are a great way to use up the scraps of a kit. The paper is cut to 2.5' x 3.5' in size so finding scraps to fit is easy. Especially when you mix up the pocket colours from a matching range.

Well better get back to study so that I can play catch up on scrapping next week.

Till then.

Happy Scrappin, Michelle x

MIXED MEDIA CARDS MADE WITH SOME LEFTOVERS.

Hi, l am back again to share with you all what l have been creating this last week.
I pulled out my last two kits, and used up some of the leftover papers, and embellishments.
I created two Mixed Media cards, and l used the Jubilee MME Wild Berry Range.
I was so surprised how they turned out and both looked very different with these papers.

I have a few Birthdays coming up so they were just perfect.
At least l have some cards ready to go when they come up.
Its great having some ready made cards in your stash.
Im usually still making them the day before. lol.

Just loved how they turned out. Mixed Media is so in at the moment.
And they were quick cards to make in an afternoon.

I used lots of different techniques on both these cards.
Really happy with how they turned out.

This would have to be one of my favourites.
I sprayed one of the Wild Berry papers with Dylusions, Stamped a Tim Holtz stamp to the left.
l tore back some of the paper and distressed and added in between this gorgeous little flower clip that came in my kit.
Added with some flowers, and a wooden heart, and some epoxy dots.
Then last of all scattered some Gold Sequins, added some of the Bird on a Wire Washi tape, and a XOXO rub on.

Close up.

My second card l made a little different.
Added some strips of the Wild Berry papers on a Kraft Cardstock,  and some Bird on a Wire Washi Tape.
Then used some Lindy Stamp Gang Sprays, a Flair, a Chipboard word that l painted, and some flowers, feathers and some hand dyed muslin l made.

Look at those feathers!

Close up.

So two Gorgeous cards made on a Sunday afternoon.
Thanks for stopping by this week, to see what l have been creating.

Enjoy your week,
Take Care,

Tracey. x
