Altered Notebook

Hi all and welcome to my Monday Creative inspiration share for Mad About Scrappin.  Today I have taken my leftovers and a few scraps to create this shabby chic inspired notebook cover.  I have used the gorgeous papers Junque Gypsy from Marion Smith.  I have really loved using these papers and I am hoping I can squeeze one more project out of them.

I have used what was left of the embellishments I received in the kit and only a few things from my stash... So without any further ado I will let the pictures do the talking....

Well guys, it's another really short and sweet post from me this week.  As always thanks for stopping by.  I sure do enjoy your company. Please be sure to check out the links below to see what my other creative team mates have been up to...

✿ღ.~Mad About Scrappin Monday~ღ.✿

Hey everyone, I have a little tag to share with you all today.  This is my Mad About Scrappin project showcasing some of the gorgeous laces and flowers that you can find over in the store.

I started with a manilla #8 shipping tag...

and the Kasiercraft - Needle and Thread paper pad
And some gorgeous shabby embellishments from Mad About Scrappin
 I added some hand sewing.
 Inked up all the edges.
Cut a dress form from the Tim Holtz Sewing room die.  I cut the bodice piece from the paper pad and added some cheesecloth, lace and pearl trim.
I also culled my shabby embellishments to just a few.  I have also used a spool or bobbin cut from the die and wrapped some seam binding and embroidery floss.  The final touch was a small sewing machine charm.
Then the fun began....putting it all together!!

.....and here is where I always forget to take pictures. So what follows is the finished product!!

The products I have used to create this project are:-

Be sure come on over to the Mad About Scrappin store and check out all the new stock that has just arrived!!

Lovely Tag using 'Needles and Threads' by Kaisercraft

There's just something very comforting about the 'Needle and Threads' collection by Kaisercraft, the colours are very soothing and the patterns utterly charming, as a lover of sewing from a young age, I've really enjoyed using these papers which were from the 'Mad About Scrappin' Flog it Friday on their
  Facebook Page.

Making a simple tag of my required size I used a combination of the 'Backstitch' and 'Bobbin' papers to cover the base, rolling opposite corners for some interest, I used a dressform which I covered in the 'Pattern' paper  which I also inked the edges of with 'coffee'. To make the dress, I took a strip of the 'Seam' patterend paper, punched a pattern along one edge and then scored and folded it every 1/4" (concertina style) I glued it to the dressform, added a little lace and some beading for a belt.

Seam binding for hanging and a bow at the base, various laces from 'Mad About Scrappin' together with a sticker from my stash the overall tag is complete!! I really love the finished look.

Thank you for stopping by

Timeless papers for Timeless projects

This month I've been happily crafting with the beautiful Kaisercraft 'Timeless' collection available from the Mad About Scrappin Store. These were so much fun to play with, the wonderful mixture of patterns have a very eclectic feel to them. I found once I started using them I wanted to keep going, so I did :)

The first thing I made was a little Inspirational Quote Book, it contains four double pages each with a quote and vintage photo. Each page has a pocket that holds a small folder containing two herbal tea bags. I've decorated the book using new and vintage laces together with doilies and flowers which I think go so well with this lovely paper collection.

Next up is a lovely little trinket box I've made to store some laces in. Because it's Autumn in Australia I chose to go with a cornucopia made of Hessian spilling out all the lovely flowers and beads, I fussy cut a butterfly from the paper and added it to the top. The lid is also decorated with a 'WOW' flourish, the new Kaisercraft 'Crackle' stamp and an assortment of beads, all purchased from a couple of 'Flog it Friday' sales on the Mad About Scrappin facebook page.
Inside you will see I've used simple cardboard covered in the paperline for the lace holders.

Lastly there is a simple tag made with the papers, a doily piece added on top with ribbon, shabby flower and a bead dangle that can be removed. On the back I chose a section of paper that had a little decoration but plenty of spare space to write on.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope you've enjoyed seeing these projects :)
