October Song Title Challenge

Hello everyone, Well it's October and a new month means a new challenge.  This month Mad About Scrappin is having a "Song Title" Challenge and to participate all you have to do is....

....and then share with us on facebook and link it up with the Mad About Scrappin blog.

So guys here is my take on the challenge...

I have chosen "On the Road Again" - not a very imaginative song title I know, but it went perfectly with Kaisercrafts Check in paper collection and with my photo's!! These pics were snapped when we were on holidays in the beautiful North Island of New Zealand.   This was on the road to the Buried Village of Te Wairoa along the Tarawera Road in Rotorua.  In front of us were the stunning Blue and Green Lakes.

To create the title I have used the letter sheet from the collection.  I added some glimmer sprays, inking and stamping to the background.  The ring and splat stains are from the Kaisercraft stamp set "Stains".  I stamped these with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Walnut Stain and also added some random stamping using the "Sketchy" set from Kaisercraft.

I have added some cutouts from the paper pad and also embellishments from the co-ordinating Check in collectibles pack.

Well that is it from me, yet another quick post.  I do hope you have enjoyed my take on this month's challenge and I look forward to seeing what you all create for this.  Remember it doesn't have to be a layout...it could be a card, a tag or maybe an off the page project!!

October Already !!!!

Hello all.

I am back this week to share with you a challenge I have played with one behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

I loved this challenge because there are so many possibilities to scrap this so many different ways.

Once again I have used up some of this kit to create my layout.

So here's what I have come up with...
I have used the song "Play On" by Carrie Underwood. I thought that the song title was perfect for some recent photos I had taken of my son during this seasons soccer. This year the team got new jerseys and they were allocated their own number so I wanted to record that. Plus the fact that he was super excited on presentation day when he got his second trophy.

I have kept this layout quite bright and playful too using the bold green and white striped paper as the background. Then jazzed the edges with some gold starred washi tape.

Now I must say I love the stickers that match this set too. The have been very well used this time around as I have found them to be very versatile.

I have to admit to being a little unsure as to how to use the wire in the kit when Leanne sent it too me. However when I started on this layout I wanted something to pop on to accentuate the circles on the page and the wire worked perfectly. I messed it up a little and then adhered a wood veneer star on one. I found it has added that little bit of bling without taking over.

I then finished off the layout with some more gold washi tape in a different pattern. Then added my title in some large black chipboard to make them pop out from the page.

Are you going to play along with this month's challenge at Mad About Scrappin ?

Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates.

Creative Inspiration - Week 40

Hello everyone.

Super quick post this week to share with you what I have created for Mad About Scrappin.

Still using up the last bits and pieces of this kit.

So here what I have created to share with  you.
We have holidays here in South Australia at the moment so I had to create this layout before I have gone away. Sad day when its too hard to take scrap supplies away on holidays I tell you.

However I had a fun time getting this created before I went away. I have used all the patterned papers in the kit to create the base of this layout. I then added in a mix of washi tapes and some of the matching stickers from the kit. Super easy.

I have then finished off the layout with a few wood veneer bits and bobs. then added some journalling using some word stickers I grabbed at one of Mad About Scrappin's sales.

Certainly a quick layout but heaps of fun to create,

Till next time.

TFL, Michelle x
