Super Quick Mini Album

Hey all I am back with my Mad About Scrappin Monday share.  This week there is no new challenge, instead Leanne asked us to surprise her.  Wellll I am not sure how I went with that lol.  We have recently spent a few days down on the South Coast of NSW and as always I took heaps and heaps of photo's.  So I thought that I would pull out the Graphic 45 pad "By The Sea" and use up what scraps I had left to create this little pocket sized mini.

I cut some frames from the Sizzix Frames Stamp Combo die and used the larger frame.  Which is still not all that "large".  Here it is in my hand!!

I then pulled out the scraps and leftovers from the "By The Sea" paper pad I received in my June/July kit. As you can see there is not a whole lot of "full" pages left!! Just enough for what I had in mind and perfect for my recent coastal getaway!!

Sorry guys there aren't any process pics of this....I just got stuck into it and got it all done and dusted in an afternoon.  I did ink up both sides of the frames with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink and then stamped with a petite script stamp

.  I have made one side of the frame for journalling and the other for photo's.  This was lotsa of fun to do and I have the Sizzix film strip die which I think will also make a cool mini....mmmm, now that gives me an idea!! - stay tuned for that one :)  Here are the "glamour" photos!! :)

Another quick post for you all today.   Please be sure to check out the links below to see what my other creative team mates have to inspire you all....

By the Sea Configuration Box

Hello everyone, It is Monday in my neck of the woods, which means it is time for me to share my Mad About Scrappin project.  This week I have taken a humble pizza box that I received a recent design kit in and transformed it into an upcycled confuguration box.

I started out with all of this .......

then narrowed it down to just this......

I then used these strips to reinforce and strengthen the sides of the box (pictured below)

I cut some "shelving" from some extra thick corrugated cardboard....

and then interlocked them like this.....

Once I had all this done, I decided to cover it all with black card stock instead of painting.  I felt that the card stock would give a more finished surface to the corrugated card board.

I then gathered my supplies. Shells from our time on the South Coast....some drift wood, a piece of sea sponge and last but not least some sand filled little bottles...{yes, I even brought home some beach sand lol ;)}... I will let the pics do the rest of the talking for me, as they speak so much better than I can!!  .....

Well that's my Monday Mad About Scrappin share for this week.  A bit of a longer post this week ;)  ♥ ♥ ♥ Thanks for stopping by......

By The Sea Wallet Flip Mini Album

Hey everyone I'm here to share with you all today My Mad About Scrappin Monday project.  It is a little mini album to go inside my Memento box from last week.

This little mini is relatively quick and easy to make.  I based it on the wallet style flip down postcard booklets you used to be able to get years ago.  I haven't seen any of these in ages so I am not so sure they are around anymore.  I have used two sheets of A4 black card stock to create mine.

I have cut both sheets 5 1/4" wide and the scored then scored them every 3".  I joined both pieces together and then matted with various pages from the 8x8 By the Sea paper pad.

I have done some fussy cutting to embellish this mini and the closure is some bakers twine that I have wrapped around a button, which I topped with an image from the "Set Sail" patterned paper.

I have used a selection of photos from our summer holidays down on the South Coast of New South Wales.  My photos are a large wallet size .

Here it is in my Memento box from last week.

Wow!! that was a quick post!! Please stop by these links and check out what some of my fellow creative team mates have been up to!!

By the Sea Memento Box

Hi all.... today I am back to share with you all my Mad About Scrappin Monday Share.   I have had the gorgeous Graphic 45 By the Sea paper collection sitting here calling out my name for a few months now.  I thought it was about time I busted it open and started cutting it up.  I really really love the beachy feel to these papers and I have a few more projects I am hoping to get created before running out !!

So I was going to alter an old HTC mobile phone box that I have stashed away in my craft room, BUTTTT!!! when I painted the outside black with some acrylic paint...the paint just kept flaking off.  Yep!! I did sand the box quite well before applying the paint, but it still kept peeling off.

So I decided to pull the box apart and use it as a template to create my own!!

Here are my craft card stock templates.  I have scanned these and uploaded them here.  I am hoping that they may print out and you can use them too!!

I have cut my first piece of card stock to measure 8" x 10"and then scored the inside draw piece at 2 1/2" and again at 5 3/4".  I then rotated my paper and scored at 2 3/8" and 7 7/8"

For the outer sleeve I trimmed my paper to measure 8"x12".  My first score length ways was at 5 3/4.  I then rotated my paper and made the following score lines:- 2 1/4; 5 3/4;  8 1/8 and 11 5/8".

Once I constructed one of these from black card stock I began to layer from the paper pad.  I even matted my layers onto black card stock ... just to make them pop that little bit more!
I have done a lot of fussy cutting to embellish the box.  This is so easy really.  The papers come with some really cute images to use and also mini postcards and journalling tags.
I have added glossy accents to some of the images to give that wet shiny look that I think went with the beach theme.

I have used a little glass vial filled with beach sand and some tiny little sea shells that I bought home from our summer holidays to embellish with!! Along with some metal charms.

Here I have create a handle for my drawer out of some antique bronze bead caps and a pearl.

Well guys that it, that's my share for this week.  I am currently working on a little flip down postcard style mini album to go inside.  Be sure come back next week to check it out.
